-Miguel Cotto received his first lost by the hands of Antonio Margarito. Those hands might have had a plaster-like substance tape to them. He has since been suspended for at least one year along with his trainer Javier Capetillo. Margarito was caught by his last opponent's trainer Naseem Richardson taping an unknown material to his hand. With all this said, when Cotto fought Margarito he was beating so badly he took a knee in the 11th rd. Margarito landed many punches throughout the fight and Cotto appeared as if he couldn't take any more. Many people thought Cotto just gave up but this might give him a good reason for taking the knee.
-Miguel Cotto's sole loss was by the hands of a possible cheater. Cotto laid down the leather to Michael Jennings and proved that he needs to be among the top fighters in the Welterweight division. This is the most interesting division in boxing today. Everybody from Shane Mosely to Nate Campbell wants the winner of the Hatton-Paquiao fight in May so Cotto probably won't get that. His best opportunity to get his name back on the map would be to fight Andre Berto. The WBC Welterweight champion squeaked by a poor fight with Luis Collazo. This showed his inexperience. Miguel Cotto would devour Andre Berto and if that fight happens, Cotto will get his title back.

-Kelly Pavlik was possibly the baddest man on earth until he was stunned by Bernard Hopkins. His straight forward, upright, pound-it-out style of fighting makes him very entertaining to watch but it is very easily dissected. This was demonstrated by the veteran Bernard Hopkins when he outworked him in October. Pavlik came back in a very strong way this past Saturday showing why he is the #1 Middleweight fighter. His most intriguing opponent is the undefeated Arthur Abraham, who is fighting the also undefeated Lajuan Simon on March 14. Another possible contender would be Felix Sturm or John Duddy.
-These two fighters are already on the way to returning to greatness. Both had good, dominating performances and are ready for the next step. Pavlik still has his belt but Cotto wants one of his own. Cotto may have been cheated by Antonio Margarito but nothing can be done about that now. He has to put that behind him and move forward. The Welterweight division has great fighters and hopefully Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement to join it.
